Show off your non-Gina art

We don't seem to have a topic for this yet, which is ridiculous of course . Although maybe most of our creations are about Gina, we still need a place to share the other awesome stuff.

I made a Kahlan Amnell (Legend of the Seeker, played by Bridget Regan) wallpaper. Didn't take too long, mainly cos Im ill and my headache gets much worse if I look at a computer for long. But I think it's nice, maybe Ill change the text a little some other time.

Next wallpaper I make should be another Gina one, it's been a while. But I'll probs not make another for some time again, unless I stumble upon pictures that I wanna convert into a wallpaper.

Anyway, here's my creation:

Maybe I'll remake it sometime soon, if I have time and the guy with the hammer feels the partying in my head is over

The blending actually went surprisingly well, after the first problem (since the images actually meet with almost no overlap). But I might remake it, try to make a background similar to the one there now, and erase the actual background of the pics. That way I can remove the seeker and a guard in the background and make the colours a bit nicer, and the patter as well. But well see, maybe Ill do it, maybe not.

Very nice Bas.

I can't actually take that much credit for it, since I feel it's the pictures that make this a nice wallpaper; I just put em together with some blending and patterns. Then again, I'll never be one to create stuff like Brittany's sig. Although it looks great, I usually like my wallpapers (and often sigs too) to be more simple like this one. I like it better creating that type of stuff than the more difficult and pro looking artsy stuff.

Same goes for this new wallpaper: Sarah Walker from the series Chuck, played by Yvonne Strahovski. Only dif between these 2 is a lighting effect on the left in the first one. I think I like the 2nd one better.

Nothing fancy, didnt take my time for this one (which is one of the reasons it aint a Gina wall), but I think it still turned out ok

Into making stuff with Photoshop you mean? Yeah, Ive been doing it for a couple years now, with some breaks now and then. Had a 3/4 year break that ended a little over half a year ago. Since then Ive been making stuff that could be seen as good-ish at times. If I have time I like to make stuff. Often itll be wallpapers. At least lately. When I find nice pictures of people I have never made a wallpaper of before, that makes me really want to make one . I dont make nearly as much stuff as I could though, but then again I usually only make things when I feel like it.

Another non-gina art thing I did is the layout, buttons, bars and everything else thats customized for my Missy site (click the www). Biggest project I ever did. Granted, my other projects never went past creating a banner, but still

Lol, of course I have. Whats the point in doing this if you dont enjoy it? Plus I can often enjoy the end product for quite some time too

I like Brittany's designs, the artsy professional looking type. I wish I knew how to do that, I'd be designing the whole day, LOL. Sometimes simple is better, but I still prefer the pro type.

For wallpapers I prefer the simple type, but for most other stuff...I wish I knew how to do the pro type too

Made a new Missy av/sig set, since I found a few (small) promo pics for her new series Copper. I'm expecting more in a few months, but for now these are all I got Anyway, I kinda like the sig actually, since it was a joy to make with no problems despite the composition doing a 180 halfway through .




PS: I've (obviously) got it as my current sig now too. I'll probably replace it with a Gina one once I make it. It's just that I don't much like my current sig and this is all I've got that's new...

You could do that. Although I still don't really know where to get my intel from. For other people I usually go to one of their fansites and presto: all the available information. With Missy, I am the fansite with the information, so that won't work Google Alerts ain't doing much either. So I guess all I can do is go search the net from time to time to find something useful.

Anyway....haven't created any other art yet, although I did make some abstract drawings during college yesterday

I don't really know. She has a message centre on her official site, where I have dropped a comment a few weeks back. Other than that, I don't know. I also don't know how well that site keeps up with news, it seems they post only the major stuff and not really even everything of that. So I will probably know for instance what show she'd be doing or when it will air, but I will probably not know when she is on some talk show, or find new photoshoot pics or interviews...But right now it's very quiet around her anyway, so not many people would join my site. That should change when Copper starts airing next year. I'm hoping some of those new members would also post news. Till then I'll just go search the net every week or so to see if I can find something new. And I'll try to think of something else too



EDIT: I created a bit of Joss Stone fan art today. I may change my current Missy sig to this sig in a week or so, if I haven't made another Gina one by then. Ugh, it's too bad we can't have two sigs, lol. Well I could of course put in two of 250x200, but for me two small less nice sigs ain't half as good as one bigger sized nice one

Anyway, I LOVE the pics with which I 'had' to work, and I actually think the generally look of the sig and wall is very nice. I'm kinda even maybe happy, sorta even perhaps satisfied with the way it turned out

And the subject of today's creativity is Joss Stone. Who is a great singer and has released her new album this week (next week internationally). She needs all the support she can since those very nice people of EMI thought a disagreement would best be settled by not promoting the best album she made thusfar...at all. They even removed the cover she picked out and gave it a plain purple one with fairly plain text on it Although internationally it should have the right one. I don't even know if Joss will get money for music vids...It kinda sucks, even if you're not a fan, this might still be the album of the year, or at least top 10. Assuming you enjoy souly/jazzy stuff

And I will be sure to take a listen to her new album, I use to listen to some of her older stuff but I haven't really kept up with her.

I hadn't really kept up with her that much either. Didn't really listen to her previous album, just her first two (with the singles Fell in love with a boy, super duper love, you had me. And some more). But this really is her best album, I hope you like it. If you do, spread the word since EMI is screwing her on this one by refusing to promote it at all

And I made another (simple) wallpaper of another female. One I know next to nothing about, other than that she apparently was born somewhere in Canada, she should be about 1.70m tall, I know her name and she had a guest role on Smallville. That and that I could find only two pics of her which compelled me to create a wallpaper at the expense of writing (the pics themselves, not the lack of) are the only things I know. Anyway, I hope you like, again very simple but that's kinda my style. At least recently and for now
