World Cup

Well, I seem to have forgotten to create this thread here. Who has been watching the World Cup and what are your thoughts on it so far?

Me, I think this is the most awesome World Cup since '78 (last time we were in the final) . We've never won it, lost to Argentina in '78 and to West-Germany in '74. We haven't been playing great, but we did win all matches this World Cup as well as every qualification match. Today against Uruguay, we slipped away a bit after the 1-0 and then in the 2nd half we made 2-1, pressed for 3-1 and got it and then allowed Uruguay to attack again and score the 3-2. That's something that needs to be improved. They are still falling half asleep far too often

As for the rest: the big teams and big players disappointed. We haven't seen that much great playing. Messi was very disappointing as were all Argentinians. Italy and France were a disgrace. Portugal haven't played well, not even when they defeated North Korea by 7-0. North Korea was just hilariously bad. Spain haven't played great either, have had problems scoring. I think most teams of this World Cup would have lost to their counterparts of 4 years ago.

On the other hand, the outsiders were given a chance because of this. They did play as well as they could have. But the big teams disappointed so far. Germany have played some good football, but the big results came against opponents that played kinda terrible (England and Argentina for instance). I didn't see them against Australia, but come on...it's Australia.

Now the 2nd semi-final tomorrow. Let's find out who we have to beat next weekend!

Why have I only seen this thread now? It is too bad, because it would have reminded me to maybe watch the world cup, lol. Who won?
